Notes From the Work

Notes from the middle of the work.

Notes From the Work is where I share what I am noticing, reconsidering, and testing before every idea has become an essay, a framework, or something I am ready to call settled.

Less conclusion. More honest examination.

    Why Notes From the Work

Not every question needs to arrive finished.

Notes From the Work is where I think in public about the relationship between the person and the conditions around them.

Some notes begin with something I noticed in a room. Others come from the research, a conversation, an idea I have changed my mind about, or a question I cannot resolve cleanly yet.

I am not trying to turn every observation into a universal lesson. I am trying to make the question sharper before I decide what I think.

The point is not to arrive faster. It is to see more clearly before deciding what comes next.

    What you’ll find

Three kinds of notes keep showing up.

    01

    What I’m noticing

Patterns, moments, contradictions, and questions from leadership, organizations, research, and the rooms people are trying to navigate.

    02

    What I’m reconsidering

Ideas that became less tidy under evidence, experience, a counter-case, or a better question.

    03

    What I’m testing

Questions, distinctions, and emerging language I am carrying into the next conversation before deciding whether they hold.

You were never the only variable in the room.

Notes From the Work follows what becomes visible once you stop examining the person as if the room has no say.

Read the person. Read the conditions. Decide what comes next.
